- Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Patience and empathy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Behaviour management techniques
- An understanding of special educational needs (SEN)
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities
- Contributing to the planning and development of learning resources
- Supervising students during break times and school trips
- Monitoring and recording student progress and providing feedback to teachers
- Liaising with parents, carers, and other professionals
- Encouraging student participation and engagement in lessons
- Acting as a positive role model for students
