Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician required in Hereford.
  • SALARY: Up to £40,000 per annum plus team performance bonus providing an on-target earnings of £45,000 per annum.
  • HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Due to business expansion, our client, an independent automotive accident repair centre located in the Hereford region, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician to join their busy centre.Reporting to management and working as part of a friendly team in modern custom-equipped facilities, your key responsibilities as a Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician will include:
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Proven experience in replacing mechanical parts in vehicles.
  • Confident in stripping and refitting all components of a vehicle.
  • Proficient in using correct repair methods for EV and ADAS vehicles.
  • Self-assess completed tasks to ensure proper fitment and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Regularly check all tools to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
To be eligible, you will ideally have a recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or be working towards an IMI qualification. Our client, however, is willing to consider MET Technicians with no formal qualifications who have a prior track record in vehicle body repair/strip and fit or from a motor vehicle mechanical background with experience in suspension, steering, and other more complex mechanical work. Overall, you will be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, carry out duties as detailed on job cards to manufacturer and company standards, use initiative and prioritise workload to meet delivery times and customers' expectations, be able to work independently but liaise effectively with colleagues and support others by multi-tasking during busy periods. A UK driving licence with minimal points is essential at this stage.What's in it for you? For your hard work as a Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician, our client is offering:
