– Manage a caseload of children, young people, and families, ensuring work aligns with statutory guidelines, budgets, and procedures.
– Support families using a restorative and strengths-based approach, helping develop safety plans with family and professional engagement.
– Perform direct work with children, families, and carers, providing support and challenge to maintain children safely within their family home.
– Facilitate Family Group Conferences or Meetings to actively engage families in planning and assessment.
– Plan, implement, and monitor tailored interventions, using evidence-based methods to build resilience and prevent children from entering care.
– Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to ensure coordinated support and effective safeguarding.
– Complete all assessments, reports, and casework in a timely manner, adhering to standards and timescales.
– Maintain accurate records, prepare legal reports, and provide court evidence when required.
– Support efforts for children returning to their family homes, offering intensive support during crises with gradual reduction as family independence grows.
– Advocate for the voice and rights of the child, ensuring their views are respected throughout all interventions.
– Challenge and report any abusive, discriminatory, or exploitative behaviour for effective safeguarding of children and families.
– Engage in supervision, training, and team meetings to enhance professional skills and maintain high-quality practice.
– Mentor less experienced social workers and contribute to the development of social work students as needed.Additional Responsibilities:– Ensure compliance with relevant legislation such as the Children Act and safeguarding policies.
– Work flexibly, including home visits and community-based support, to meet diverse family needs.
