Employing over 400 people and operating from a modern custom-built complex, Balmoral provide surface and subsurface buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products and services to the global energy, defence, subsea communications, and oceanographic industries.As a Subsea Test Centre Technician, you will be an integral part of our subsea and hydrodynamic testing facilities. This role is an onshore position that supports both subsea and wave tank test operations, providing technical assistance in setting up and carrying out a range of tests on products manufactured within the Balmoral plant and recording results in accordance with company procedures.Within some departments we operate a shift system, a shift allowance is paid while working on back and night shift which increases the standard hourly rate by time +1/6 and time + 1/3. There is also the opportunity to work overtime during busy periods. Due to rotating shifts and safety requirements applicants must be at least aged 18 or over.What will you do as a Test Technician?Handling and slinging of products using O/H cranes, forklifts, pallet trucks etc.Operation of pressure vessels and hydraulic equipmentOperation of PCs for data logging and test reportingUse of powered tools and hand toolsBasic Care Maintenance, of Test Centre equipmentFilling in of timesheets at the end of each shift (daily) with the correct works numbers and time spent on the jobKeeping your workplace in a clean, tidy and Follow the Area 5s guidelinesOther duties and responsibilitiesAdhere to company Health and Safety Procedures, safe system of work instructions, risk assessments, and any other documentation controlling the task you are performingActively contribute to the Business SIFRI system to aid Safety improvementsBe prepared to work shift patterns as required to meet the delivery demands of products to our customersOther special projects and “ad hoc” duties as assignedWhat are we looking for in a Test Technician?Possess a can-do approach in a dynamic and ever evolving industryEffective communicator with the ability to build relationships with individuals at all levelsStrong teamworking and interpersonal skillsAbility to deliver a high standard of customer service both internally and externallyIs highly motivated and have a pro-active approach to problem solving in a technical environmentExcellent attention to detailDesire to work in a fast paced, demanding manufacturing environmentInvolvement in change initiatives and projects with a view to continual improvementUse of hand and power toolsAbility to use computers for data input, test documentation and emailDesirable (not essential)B1 Forklift LicenceMobile elevated working platform & Boom Lift LicenceOHC Crane LicenceMechanical Experience (not essential)Hyperbaric Testing Experience (not essential)What’s in it for you?Working at Balmoral comes with a number of benefits including:
