- Ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with company operating procedures.
- Providing guidance in the development of procedures to accommodate a changing environment.
- Supporting Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes working closely with Process Engineers.
- Leading Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions through Quality methods such as 8D, A3
- Providing a supporting role for the completion of Fast responses using Fishbone, 3 legged 5 Why.
- Managing department MRB process and reporting of key issues, late MRB tickets
- Management of the Nonconformities related to the responsible area and providing support and guidance to employees on effective corrective actions
- Producing Right First Time data. Publishing results and utilising them to direct efforts/focus.
- Liaising with all areas of the business, at all levels, together with suppliers and customers in resolving product quality related issues
- Conducting layered process audits and where applicable AS9100D internal audits in order to demonstrate compliance with procedures, processes and other requirements
- Attending the various business/product reviews to ensure the business is addressing all aspects of the requirement to the satisfaction of the customer
- Building effective working relationships internally and externally
- Verification processes to AS9102 (FAI) AS9145 (PPAP) or similar
- Risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA – PFMEA/DFMEA)
- A high standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent)
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements
- A time served background in an engineering discipline
- An understanding of metrology (optical/mechanical), and problem solving tools / techniques.
- Fully competent in the use of PC’s (Microsoft Office Applications) as detailed technical report generation will be required.
- Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach to working, and proven attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.
- An extensive knowledge of Qioptiq products and processes, together with an understanding of the Qioptiq Management System
- Familiarity with auditing techniques, although training will be given if required.
