Financial Controller£55,000 – £60,000 + Benefits | 9-Day Fortnight | Oxfordshire | Hybrid WorkingAn established and growing medical device business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance function during an exciting period of expansion into new markets.This is a newly created role that will work closely with the CFO and oversee the day-to-day financial operations, supporting strategic decisions through accurate reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening internal controls and financial processes across the business.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking for long-term progression within a dynamic, high-quality SME environment. The company also offers a genuine commitment to work-life balance, including a 9-day fortnight meaning every other Friday is a full day off, and the alternate Friday is a half day (1pm finish).Key Responsibilities:Support the CFO with financial planning, reporting, and process improvementOversee all financial control activities, including month-end and quarter-end reportingDeliver timely and accurate financial information to senior managementPrepare management accounts and assist with budgeting and forecastingManage VAT returns, payroll, cashflow and bank reconciliationsSupervise the finance assistant and ensure compliance with accounting standardsRequirements:Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance roleStrong knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and internal controlsAdvanced Excel skills and experience with accounting softwareExcellent attention to detail and ability to work proactively in a growing SME environmentPerks & remunerationPackage:Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum9-day fortnight working pattern: every other Friday fully off; alternate Fridays finish at 1pm25 days annual leave + bank holidays4% employer pension contributionHybrid working (1–2 days per week from home)Location:Office-based in Faringdon, Oxfordshire – commutable from Oxford, Swindon, Newbury and surrounding areas.
