This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced education leader with a strong background in ESOL to lead a dedicated team and shape the future of English language provision for a diverse and motivated student body.About the Role - Head of School - ESOLReporting to the Assistant Principal for Supported and Targeted Learning, you'll be responsible for overseeing the full ESOL provision, including full-time and part-time programmes. You will lead and inspire a team of curriculum and support staff to deliver high-quality, inclusive education that meets learner needs and funding priorities.Key responsibilities include:
- Curriculum leadership across all ESOL programmes
- Quality assurance and teaching excellence
- Team leadership and staff development
- Strategic planning and implementation of qualification changes
- Driving improvements in attendance, retention, and learner outcomes
- Degree-level qualification and a full Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, DET)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience in ESOL within FE
- Deep understanding of ESOL curriculum developments and inclusive learning strategies
- Demonstrated success in managing teams and developing staff
- Experience in curriculum management, change leadership, and quality improvement
- Strong knowledge of FE funding, resource management, and local education priorities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
