- Working on the front desk reception, meeting and greeting patients, arriving them for their appointments, booking following ups etc
- Answering our busy incoming calls, booking appointments, handling general enquiries
- Processing new patient registrations
- Filing patient notes
- Making outgoing calls, booking follow up appointments
- Monitoring the practice email account
- Scanning documents into the patients record
- We are looking for a friendly and professional GP Receptionist/Administrator who communicates clearly and confidently, both face-to-face and over the phone. You should be comfortable dealing with patients and visitors from all walks of life, have good organisational skills, and be able to work efficiently under pressure. Basic IT skills are important as you will be using computer systems to manage appointments and records. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work well within a team are essential. Its also important that you understand the need for confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexibility with working hours when needed is required.
- Previous experience in a GP surgery or healthcare setting would be a real advantage, as would some knowledge of NHS procedures and basic medical terminology.
