Location: Stores Road/London Road, DerbyWe are looking to recruit hardworking, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive individual to fulfil the role of Chargehand within the Street Cleansing Void service.Our Voids service carries out a variety of work to both internal and external customers, including working on behalf of Derby Homes, in particular, the void property team. The void team are responsible for assessing a properties condition, once the tenant has moved out and carry out the necessary works to bring the property back to a lettable standard for the next tenant to move in. The works we carry out on behalf of the void team include house and garden clearance work, wallpaper stripping and property cleaning.Void property clearance and cleaning are the main duties of this role, completing in excess of 1200 properties within the last year. The clearance and cleaning is carried out to a high standard within a very restricted time limit. We also carry out work on behalf of the Council’s Environmental Health department, clearing and cleaning properties which have been served a legal notice.We are looking for an individual who is willing to carry out the variety of works which we complete and are motivated to finish each task to a high standard. While carrying out this work the post holder needs to maintain a professional attitude to our commercial customers, while having a can do approach.As a Chargehand, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team to complete the clean and clearance of properties in the specified time.
- Delegating work to your team and checking that it has been completed satisfactorily, in order to meet targets and deadlines.
- Liaising with customers, service users and dealing with public complaintsNormal hours of work are 8am – 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 3.30pm on Fridays, however there are times we need to work flexibly to achieve the agreements set for each contract.The successful applicant must hold a full UK driving licence.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out different training courses which will include manual handling, drug related litter removal and asbestos training.
Successful applicants will have to undertake a driving assessment to assess suitability for the position.Who We Are
