A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Chargehand to join their Home Improvement Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing maintenance environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to oversee and carry out component replacement works across the council's housing stock, including kitchens, boilers, bathrooms, rewires, roofing, doors and windows. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Supervising a small team of operatives to deliver planned improvement works. • Completing component replacement works to the required standards in line with current regulations and manufacturer instructions. • Monitoring and updating project trackers, ensuring works are completed within agreed timescales. • Liaising with the Asset Management Support Team to ensure efficient job scheduling. • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • A proven trade background, preferably within social housing. • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience. • Full UK driving licence and access to transport. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Experience of working in a customer/tenant-facing environment. • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting. • Strong organisational and time management skills. Mandatory Training & Certification Candidates must hold up-to-date certificates in the following areas: • Working at Height • Manual Handling • Asbestos Awareness • COSHH Training • Relevant Trade Certification The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £26 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £21 per hour PAYE).
