The Environmental Technician will play a key role in supporting the organisation's environmental compliance and sustainability efforts. This role in Lanarkshire requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare detailed reports.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives and waste reduction programmes.
  • Perform site inspections to ensure adherence to environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on environmental projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in the development of training materials related to environmental practices.
  • Provide technical support to address environmental concerns promptly.

  • Previous experience of managing Environmental Permit compliance, preferably in the waste, environmental or power generation industry. Experience of working with SEPA preferred.
  • Qualified to at least the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or similar qualification in a relevant environmental discipline
  • Practical experience of the interpretation and reporting of environmental data.
  • Knowledge of air emissions testing, and the requirements of BS EN:14181
  • Knowledge of waste treatment, recycling and disposal operations.
  • Knowledge of environmental law relevant to waste management.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, ISO14001:2015.
  • Highly competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work legislation and safe working practices.
