- Develop new manufacturing processes, in line with Engineering Plans and Budgets. Technical solutions and processes must be robust, timely, cost-effective and meet Customer expectations
- Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standard controls that ensure long term process stability, including: Lean Principles, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs; plus awareness of Programmable Logic Controls and Visual Management Systems on automated process lines
- Specify and qualify new equipment, often working with suppliers to meet tight deadlines. Ensure all process equipment meets regulatory and safety standards
- To coordinate development activities to establish supporting data that ensures the manufacturing processes are based on a sound understanding of the materials which are being processed and the technology adopted for the plant and equipment
- To coordinate and manage a project data file capturing process and design information; to include, trials data, process definition (including drawings and specifications), certification and safety data. This data is to be controlled through the company's Product Lifecycle Management system
- Support project activities, to include process reviews, capability studies, and Safe System of Work
- Present to line management and other stakeholders (verbal and written) on topics relating to process status within development or production, e.g. KPIs
- Have a good technical and manufacturing base, show initiative and be able to work under pressure
- Prioritising a constantly varying workload, in parallel with maintaining high quality standards and meeting deadlines
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing
