
Purchasing Buyer (Non-Production)

- Source, negotiate, and place purchase orders for non-production and indirect categories including IT/telecoms, facilities management, utilities, travel, consumables, fasteners, MRO, and professional services.
- Deliver cost savings and added value through supplier negotiation, framework agreements, and market benchmarking.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure procurement adds value without creating complexity.
- Manage supplier performance, including quality, service, delivery, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify opportunities for spend optimisation through analysis of expenditure and supplier base.
- Support and implement category strategies for indirect and facilities-related spend.
- Promote efficiency by championing use of ERP/MRP systems, improving ordering processes, and reducing transactional burden on internal customers.
- Experience in indirect/non-production procurement, ideally within engineering, automotive, or other technical sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills.
- Track record of delivering measurable savings and value improvements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Competence in ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Analytical skills with ability to interpret spend data and identify opportunities.
- Knowledge of procurement best practice, contract management, and supplier development.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) highly desirable but not essential where experience
