Technical BuyerOxfordshire, OnsiteAdvanced Engineering and Motor-sportExcellent salary and benefits packageThis is a pivotal role in ensuring that critical components are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. As a Technical Buyer, you'll work closely with engineering and production teams, lead supplier relationships, and make confident, informed purchasing decisions that directly impact project success.What you'll be doing
  • Managing the timely supply of materials in line with project deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Supporting engineers in identifying and selecting the most suitable suppliers.
  • Benchmarking products and suppliers to ensure best total acquisition cost.
  • Leading or contributing to supplier negotiations, including contract terms and long-term technical partnerships.
  • Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance using established KPIs.
  • Delivering strategic planning and reporting for your commodity areas - including cost-down initiatives and project status updates.
  • Driving improvements in cost control, supplier reduction, and stock management.
  • Supporting additional procurement activities as needed by the Head of Purchasing.
What we're looking forSkills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a technical buying or procurement role, ideally within motor sport or a high-performance engineering setting.
  • Understanding of technical and engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of component manufacturing and basic engineering principles.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preferably IFS) and confidence with Excel.
  • Solid understanding of contract law and purchasing terms.
  • CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
