Start Date: Expected in the coming weeksI'm working with a well-established education technology company in Manchester that designs and builds digital learning platforms used by schools, universities, and training providers across the UK. Their platforms support thousands of students and educators, providing interactive tools for learning, assessment, and collaboration, and they are continually innovating to enhance accessibility, engagement, and performance.These projects are set to start shortly. This is a chance to work on meaningful education technology projects that have real impact on learning outcomes nationwide.Projects involved:Building new features for an online assessment and grading platformDeveloping interactive course modules and real-time collaboration tools for studentsMigrating legacy systems to a modern JavaScript/TypeScript stackImproving platform performance, accessibility, and user experience for thousands of active usersIntegrating the platform with third-party APIs and cloud servicesSkills required:JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScriptReact (Next.js or similar modern framework)Node.js & Express for backend services (desirable)REST APIs and GraphQLTesting frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or PlaywrightExperience with Git, CI/CD, and cloud hosting (AWS/Azure)Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus, given the education focusIf you're a Manchester-based mid-level JavaScript contractor who's passionate about building products that make a difference in education and you're available in the coming weeks.
