  • Faster and better care of patients presenting with complications from radiotherapy, and systemic anti-cancer treatments. (early recognition, better treatment, early discharge).
  • Faster and better care of patients with complications of cancer (early recognition, better treatment, rapid referral back to appropriate speciality)
  • Improved access to appropriate oncology and relevant MDT.

  • Registered Nurse Part 1,2 or relevant section of the register
  • Honours degree (Level 3/ Framework for Higher Education Qualification Level 6) in health-related subject
  • Oncology Course
  • Evidence of Master's level learning or prepared to work towards
  • Evidence of continued Professional development
  • Substantial post registration experience with significant experience which will have been in the field of cancer.
  • Previous experience in a post involving clinical or managerial responsibility
  • Experience of teaching and development of teaching materials
  • Sound knowledge of Oncology aetiology and current treatments
  • Demonstrates understanding of good practice in patient/customer care
Desirable
  • Management training course/ leadership course
  • Master's degree
  • Advanced Communication Skills Training (Connected)
  • Clinical Examination Skills training OSCE or equivalent

  • Experience of audit and research
  • Knowledge of audit and clinical governance
  • Teaching skills
