- Proven track record of success in managing a team
- Ability to balance team management responsibilities with hands-on practical tasks
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to balance a varied workload and re-prioritise in response to changing business needs and unexpected engineering problems.
- Experience of working within a fast-moving pressurized manufacturing environment
- Evidence of troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
- Must be driven and enthusiastic with a passion for engineering maintenance. Highly professional and able to deal with issues unaided

- Champion health and safety in all engineering practices.
- Lead reliability-based and planned maintenance to maximise equipment uptime.
- Manage and develop a multi-skilled engineering team to meet operational and legal standards.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive year-on-year performance improvements.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets aligned with business strategy.
- Deliver energy efficiency improvements and manage capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with legislation (LOLER, PUWER, DESIRE) and insurance requirements.
- Maintain and improve the Maintenance Management System (SHIRE).
- Oversee outsourced engineering stores (IESA) and contractor control processes.
- Foster collaboration with senior leadership to enhance maintenance systems and site efficiency.
- Identify training needs, technological improvements, and capital investment opportunities.
