- Industry recognised qualification/apprenticeship plus relevant experience to professional level or equivalent training and experience.
- City and Guilds Part II, NVQ Level 3 or other recognised qualification.
- Accredited Health & Safety training course
- Gas Safe Certification
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience within a commercial environment
- Substantial post training experience across engineering, mechanical, heating and plumbing trades and experience of installation works and fault finding
- Experience working in a reactive and pressurised environment
- Experience undertaking surveys and audits (e.g. condition surveys)
- NHS experience
- Experience working alongside other maintenance specialisms (e.g. electrical, plumbing & building trades)
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, Building Regulations, and Data Protection
- Well-developed problem solving skills
- Sound knowledge of workshop safety practices including safe systems of work, risk assessment & COSHH data sheets
- Good analytical skills; able to compile, analyse problems and to find solutions
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; able to communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors
- Able to prioritise many conflicting project demands
- Good written and verbal communication
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work calmly under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
