Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Camberley Sewage Treatment team as an Electrical and Mechanical Technician.As a successful candidate, you will using your mechanical & electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe efficient timely and effective manner with minimum supervision allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers.This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.The role also requires you to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out-of-hours emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.Base Location - Camberley - GU15 3YL.38 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7:30 am -3:36 pm.You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.What you should bring to the role as a Mechanical & Electrical Technician
  • You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • A problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalate if required.
  • An excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to Internal and External staff and contractors.
  • Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work and working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, under own initiative to design and standards.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Offering base salary up to £45,000 per annum plus a standby & overtime opportunity, increasing earnings by a potential £8,000 - £10,000.
