As a specialist Support Worker, you will be based in our Bromsgrove accommodation project supporting homeless ex-offenders. There will be opportunities to work in the community to support ex-offenders within their own tenancies.The role is to provide person centred and client led support to resettle clients back into the community, leading to fulfilled lives, improved life choices, a reduction in offending and safer communities - working closely with West Mercia Police and the Probation ServiceOur clients have diverse range of support needs therefore it is an essential element of this role that you have experience and/or relevant knowledge of the needs of vulnerable people and how these needs can be met.By delivering one to one support the post holder will provide the right environment and opportunities to ensure clients settle within their temporary and permanent accommodation and work towards independent living through a structured resettlement package. The post holder is required to take responsibility for completing all essential support and risk management tasks whilst maintaining Professional Boundaries, Confidentiality and network with external agencies (incl. Police and Probation) to achieve client goals and outcomes.Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.About youWe need someone who is able to work within a small team as well as being a lone worker. You will have knowledge and experience working with vulnerable groups. It is desirable you have worked within the criminal justice sector but not essential. The post holder must demonstrate ability and confidence working with challenging individuals. Organised and methodical in delivering service excellence using procedural and legislative frameworks.Demonstrate sustained levels of personal initiative to be creative and innovative and deliver effective service solutions. You will be able to manage conflicting priorities and a busy schedule of short-, medium- and long-term activities. The post holder will prioritise and deliver against objectives. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages and maintaining accurate written records.Essential Criteria:
  • Full Driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
