- A degree or equivalent in a related subject.
- Attained CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma.
- Masters degree in related subject.
- Experience working in a large LAN/WAN (Local Area Network/Wide Area Network) communications environment.
- A highly specialised knowledge of TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) and experience troubleshooting these protocols.
- Specialist knowledge of administering, maintaining, configuration and installation of Wide Area routed networks and associated technologies.
- An advance theoretical knowledge and practical experience of implementing Cisco IOS (Internet Operating System) network operating systems.
- A thorough knowledge and in depth understanding of standard office applications such as Excel and Word, as well as network specific applications such as Visio.
- Experience gained in a Health environment.
- Understanding of wider NHS health community.
- Knowledge of National Systems and initiatives
