
School Mental Health Assistant

- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students experiencing mental health or emotional challenges.
- Assist in developing behaviour intervention plans and wellbeing strategies.
- Support students affected by trauma, anxiety, low mood, or social difficulties.
- Help implement restorative and trauma-informed approaches across the school.
- Liaise with families, external agencies, and safeguarding leads to ensure holistic support.
- A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and promoting mental health.
- Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
- Some experience (paid or voluntary) working with vulnerable individuals or children is desirable but not essential.
- Ideal stepping stone for careers in educational psychology, social work, CAMHS, youth justice, or counselling.
