
Clinical Support Worker

- To undertake personal care duties, e.g bathing, toileting, dressing, supoort with meals and assisting patients with their app
- Ensure that the patients bed space is clean, tidy, and accessible and that the person has what they need within easy reach.

- Practice safe standards of care to patients following Trust guidelines and policies and be able to concentrate for periods throughout the day with occasional interruptions.
- Ensure care is given in accordance with the infection prevention and health and safety policies and procedures.
- Contribute to updating patient records e.g. by recording basic patient information such as fluid balance (intake and output) and nutrition, height, weight and age.
- Develop the skills to actively facilitate self-care and independence with patients.
- Ensure equipment and stores are well maintained, taking appropriate action if the equipment is faulty.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- To perform patient observations including: heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, respirations, blood glucose monitoring and GCS.
- Collecting and testing urine samples
- Wound swaps, wound observations, and simple wound dressings.
- Removal of peripheral cannula urinalysis.

- NVQ Qualification
- Previous experience in hospital/nursing home setting
- Awareness of personal care needs
- Awareness of needs of older people
- Awareness of Health and Safety at work
- Awareness of rehabilitation skills
- Good oral communication skills
- Good written communication skills
- Team Worker
- Good practical/personal care skills
- Basic IT Skills
- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
- Good general education
- Willingness to undertake further training
