We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our clients team, bringing expertise in maintaining complex mechanical systems in high-hazard environments. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and safety of plant assets, supporting production goals, and upholding the highest standards of compliance and performance.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, valves, heat exchangers, and agitators.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Work in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and internal safety and quality standards.
- Support the development of apprentices and less experienced team members.
- Participate in safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and work safely in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
- BTEC (ONC), City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant mechanical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience post-apprenticeship on a COMAH site (preferably Top Tier).
- High Risk Confined Space (NC4), Asbestos Awareness (CAR 2012), and Mechanical Joint Integrity certification (ECITB or equivalent).
- Proficient in SAP S4HANA and Microsoft Office.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience working with hazardous materials and understanding of Basis of Safety (BoS) principles.
