Are you a hands-on mechanical engineer with a knack for keeping heavy machinery running smoothly? This is your chance to join a specialist maintenance team supporting critical crane operations at a major UK manufacturing site.The Role:
You'll be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of overhead travelling cranes-equipment that plays a vital role in lifting and moving materials across a busy industrial environment. You'll also support general production line maintenance during downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on overhead cranes
  • Mechanical repairs using schematics and technical drawings
  • Fabrication of spare parts and refurbishment of existing machinery
  • Safety audits and risk assessments
  • Supporting wider site maintenance during downshifts
What We're Looking For:
  • Experienced mechanical fitter from steel, construction, or heavy industry
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence to challenge unsafe practices and improve standards
