Salary: £95 – £120 per day (Depending on Experience)

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-timeAre you committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in Killamarsh, offering crucial support to pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement.As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students in overcoming barriers to learning, helping them build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships. This is a rewarding role for someone with patience, empathy, and the ability to provide both academic and emotional support.Key Responsibilities of a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs in one-to-one and small group settings.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop coping strategies.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and building social skills.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate regularly with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements:
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
