- Leading the quality assurance on survey methodologies, data, and review of reports.
- Undertaking field surveys, with a focus on the more complex habitat and botanical surveys.
- Mentoring our ecologists with a particular interest in botany.
- Provide line management of other ecologists within your region.
- Developing a training plan for Binnies ecologists in habitat and botanical surveys.
- Design of habitat restoration/creation schemes and preparing management and monitoring plans.
- Undertaking BNG calculations using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric (and other client specific BNG toolkits).
- Input into a range of ecological deliverables including: BNG assessment reports, EcIA, planning documents, HRA and other consents.
- Supporting tenders/proposals.
- have an ecological/environmental related degree
- be or working towards Chartership
- have an equivalent of FISC Level 4 standard in botanical field skills
- experience of undertaking field surveys to collect biological data to a high standard (e.g., via NVC)
- experience of UK Habitats assessments and BNG condition assessments
- experience of writing ecological reports, and preparing habitat management plans
- have excellent written and oral communication
- are willing to work away from home as required by the business in order to deliver specific contracts
- hold a full UK driving licence.
