This role will be based in our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic Unit, therefore, previous healthcare experience is essential.The role of a Healthcare Support Worker is varied, both equally challenging and rewarding, you will be at the forefront of providing direct patient care. Assisting patients with individualised elements of basic nursing care alongside the implementation of programs of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse as part of this role. Whilst also supporting Registered Nurse, Nursing Associates, and the wider multi-disciplinary teams in your ward/department and across the wider Trust.You should be able to demonstrate a good verbal and written command of English, alongside excellent communication, and interpersonal skills as you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the patients' healthcare experiences by contributing to the on-going support of the patients and their relative/visitors.Main duties of the jobPlease note this role supports a 24/7 service and therefore, as a Healthcare Support Worker you will be required to work a combination of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays
  • Early Shift: 7:00-15:00 / 7:30 - 15:30
  • Long Day: 7:00 - 19:30 / 07:30 - 20:00
  • Late Shift: 12:00 Noon - 20:00
  • Night Shift: 7pm - 7:30 / 19:30 - 8am

  • Full time hours = 37.50 hours per week.
  • Part time hours = 23.50 hours per week - 30.00 hours per week.
  • The minimum required hours for this role are 23.50 hours per week.
Please also be aware that if you are successfully appointed to the role following shortlisting and an interview, you will be required to attend the Healthcare Support Worker Bootcamp in your first two weeks of joining BTHFT.The Bootcamp takes place over 2 weeks & is Monday - Friday 8:00 until 16:30 every day. After completing Bootcamp, you will join your allocated Ward / Department.Due to current home office guidelines, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is unable to provide sponsorship as part of this rolePlease also note from a Health and wellbeing perspective-due to the requirement of the shift pattern the role is NOT suitable for full time students who are currently in full time Higher Education.
