
Healthcare Assistant

- We are looking for a experienced Healthcare Assistant who will work alongside our existing team and has the qualifications and/or experience to support our patients with long term health conditions.
- Candidate must hold a valid driving licence and have access to their own transport, as the role requires travel across four sites located in BD5, BD7, and BD8
- Full time or Part Time Hours 12 month Fixed Term initially with a possible move to a permanent post.

- Phlebotomy
- BP Checks
- Basic wound care
- Undertake new patient health checks and NHS health checks
- Undertake a range of diagnostic procedures e.g., urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring, pregnancy tests, diabetic foot checks
- Delivery of health promotion e.g., smoking cessation advice, diet, exercise, and alcohol
- Maintain stock control for all clinical rooms
- Supporting practitioners to carry out healthcare activities
- Participate in home visits and care home visits
- Supporting the activities of other team members
- Maintaining safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
- Verbally reporting to trained staff and to relay concerns from patients and relatives to the nurse in charge in respect of changes in patient condition
- Working within the practice and personal boundaries
- Participating in meetings and training as required
- Developing personal knowledge and skills
- Contributing to audit and other quality/service improvement interventions
- Accountability to all partners
- Any other duties that may be assigned
