HMP Lewes is a male prison that has a capacity for 742 inmates and are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support with duties such as Labelling, stock taking, checking, collections etc.Hours 0730 - 1630 4 days a week / no weekendsSalaryThis position is Part Time, youll receive an annual salary up to £28,690 per annum FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider team Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksMain duties of the jobAs a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
  • Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
  • Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
  • Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
  • Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
  • Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
  • Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
