But with the right opportunities and support we can help you build a career that works for you.The Product Analyst will Report to the Financial Systems and Analysis Manager and will provide ongoing data analysis with the ability to work effectively unsupervised, providing detailed information and interpretation of society product data.What the role will look like:
  • Providing detailed information and interpretation of the Society's mortgage, savings and insurance products, accounts and customers
  • Planning of workloads to ensure timely delivery of month end and ad-hoc reporting and development work.
  • Presents findings of all major work to customers in a manner that is clearly understood.
  • Communicates with other areas of the Information Management team to understand where there is a crossover in work.
  • Is the customer's primary contact for all major work carried out. This includes being the first point of contact for explaining and clarifying output, answering queries and identifying and presenting data trends.
  • Complete understanding of how to extract data from various sources including Business Objects
  • Capable of manipulating data in Excel without supervision, using an extensive range of formulae and functions. Examples include calculating new variables based on criteria, manipulating raw data into summary data tables by summing or averaging based on certain criteria.
  • Capable of manipulating large data sets without supervision, using an extensive range of systems and functions / code. Examples include calculating new variables, creating trend data and manipulating large data sets from their raw form into their required format (e.g. account level, customer level, and aggregate level).
  • Identify, develop and implement improvements in report processing and outputs utilising technology
  • Providing detailed information and interpretation of society data
What you will bring to the role:
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Ideally exposure to specialist data mining tools and relational databases (i.e. SPSS, Business Objects or equivalent)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Access
  • A high level of attention to detail enabling the production of analyses and reports with a consistently high degree of accuracy
  • Application of specialist knowledge to ongoing data analysis with ability to work effectively unsupervised
  • Complexity of role relates specifically to extensive data mining and interpretation skills and knowledge
  • Proactive professional with good business acumen who will initiate new ideas within their own projects
