Sandwell Children's Services is looking for a skilled Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and Conference Chair to join their team in Oldbury on a hybrid working basis.This is a vital safeguarding role where you will provide independent oversight and ensure high standards of planning and review for children in care and children subject to child protection plans.📝 Key Responsibilities:Chair Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Children (LAC) ReviewsProvide robust challenge and oversight to care planning and decision-makingEnsure all reviews are child-focused, timely, and compliant with statutory guidanceMaintain independence in upholding children's rights and promoting best outcomesMonitor performance and escalate concerns where drift or delay occursWork collaboratively with internal teams and partner agenciesContribute to service development and quality assurance✅ Requirements:Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registrationPrevious experience as an IRO and/or Child Protection Conference ChairStrong understanding of Working Together to Safeguard Children and IRO HandbookSkilled in chairing complex meetings and managing sensitive discussionsEnhanced DBS on the Update ServiceRandstad Care acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
