- Support the Head of Midwifery and the Associate Director of Midwifery in responsibility for the leadership, operational, professional development and governance of midwifery and maternity services at HDFT.
- Provide senior credible midwifery voice in a variety of settings, attending meetings and forums, challenging where necessary to ensure compassion in care is of the highest possible standard within the Trust, and promoting maternity services at all times.
- Support the Head of Midwifery and Associate Director of Midwifery in meeting the organisational, regional and national strategic maternity agenda, by overseeing and managing the day to day operational needs of the service.
- Play a leading role in the support, supervision and development of staff in the clinical area. Support the development of programs of induction and preceptorship of staff.
- Provide leadership and support to the midwifery staff, medical staff, maternity support workers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

- Registered Midwife with current NMC Registration
- Educated or working towards a masters
- Professional and clinical competance
