Do you have the flexibility, drive, and creativity to support pupils in reaching their full potential?We’re working with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in the Tameside area who are looking to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning across Key Stage 1. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled HLTA to join a supportive team and play a vital role in the classroom. The role has arisen as the school are thinking ahead and want to address gaps in learning within Year 1 phonics, support preparation for Year 2 summative assessments and cover staff absences.Key Responsibilities:
- Fast-paced position, moving from class to class during the school day
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to whole classes in the absence of the teacher
- Support teaching and learning across Year 1 and Year 2, working with small groups and 1:1 to raise attainment, particularly within phonics, reading, maths and SPaG
- Assisting in the preparation of high quality and effective learning materials
- Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to assessment
- Support the inclusion of pupils with SEND, EAL and varying abilities
- HLTA status (or equivalent Level 4 qualification)
- Experience working across KS1 and teaching of phonics
- Strong behaviour management, classroom organisation skills and confidence to deliver high quality, engaging lessons
- A flexible, proactive, and positive attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
