- Lead commercial management of multiple high-value civil engineering projects simultaneously
- Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts
- Produce detailed cost and cash flow forecasts
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements
- Monitor project costs and value engineering opportunities
- Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management
- Lead procurement activities and supplier engagement
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors and commercial team members
- Proven commercial management experience in projects exceeding £10M
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
- Significant heavy civil engineering project exposure to renewable energy infrastructure, highways, or marine construction
- Thorough working knowledge of NEC3/4 and FIDIC contract forms
- Ability to carry out detailed re-measurements in accordance with standard methods. E.g. CESSM4, NRM2 etc.
- Proven track record in analysing, preparing and managing delay and disruption submissions, including detailed cost analysis and assessment of time-related costs
- Demonstrable experience in analysing construction programmes, critical path analysis, and delay assessment
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Valid driving licence
- Working out of Glasgow office ideal candidate will have a willingness to travel to sites across Scotland, England and Wales for short periods at a time, where necessary.
- 10 years’ experience in civil engineering quantity surveying
- MInstCES, MRICS or MCIArb qualified or equivalent professional qualification
- Understanding of heavy civils construction techniques
- Knowledge of Scottish civil engineering sector
