Newborn Hearing Screening Local Manager - 26.5 hours per weekThe Newborn Hearing Screening Local Manager is the operational lead for the local screening programme. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the programme, including staffing, quality assurance, risk management, prompt and appropriate referral to audiology and reporting to national and local screening groups. Completion of hearing screening will also be expected including weekends and bank holiday coverMain duties of the jobact as the professional lead for the day-to-day management, evaluation and quality assurance (QA) of the screening process,ensure all parents of eligible babies are offered the newborn hearing screen in a timely fashionensure that a high quality service is maintainedensure that parents and carers are given clear and accurate information regardingNHSPensure quality improvements are implementedensure thatNHSPscreening protocols and procedures are adhered to and to write, review and update local protocols and procedures as and when necessaryensure that NHSP KPI's and QS are metestablish and maintain effective methods of communication to the parents, primary care teams, otherNHSPteams where appropriate and audiology services where follow-up is indicatedlead the hearing screening team, ensuring reviews of screener activity are undertaken and appropriate continued personal development (CPD) plans are in placemanage all aspects of the screening equipment,liaise with other NHSP teams and ANNB screening programmesliaise with the national programme forNHSPand to attend regular updates and training events provided by themkeep the screening team, local professionals and stakeholders informed about national developmentsliaise with relevant health professionals and other agenciesAbout usTameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust serves a community of 250,000 people across Tameside & Glossop.   • A knowledge of audit, writing of policies and procedures

  • Working knowledge of screening equipment eg Accuscreen
ExperienceEssential
  • Experience of working in Newborn Hearing Screening Programme
  • Experience of working in the NHS or other healthcare organisation.
  • Experience of supervision in the workplace
