The Growth Company’s (GC) Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub is hiring a Green Tech Sector Development Lead who will drive a sustainable and resilient market for the regions green tech supply chain.This strategic role will build long-term partnerships with key stakeholders—including GMCA, local authorities, universities, business networks, and green tech firms—to unlock market opportunities, strengthen the regional supply chain, and advance Greater Manchester’s net zero and sector development goals. The postholder will champion the Green Economy’s role in enabling innovation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth, ensuring alignment with the Growth Company’s business plan and portfolio of services.Since 2011, GM Business Growth Hub has supported over 15,000 businesses, providing finance guidance, international links, and fostering innovation and people development. We offer expert business support, events, specialist programs, and funding.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of a sustainable and visible green tech supply chain across Greater Manchester, identifying gaps, opportunities, and interventions to support long-term market growth.
  • Develop and maintain a network of key stakeholders, including trade bodies, businesses, and public sector organisations, to facilitate collaboration, referrals, and shared market intelligence.
  • Work closely with MIDAS, Marketing Manchester, and other ecosystem partners to embed Green Economy support as a complementary and value-adding activity.
  • Map and analyse sector data to identify trends, barriers, and opportunities, informing targeted interventions and strategic planning.
  • Engage with business and sector networks to surface innovative startups and scale-ups, supporting their integration into the regional supply chain.
  • Identify and cultivate influential contacts to secure collaboration, sponsorship, and strategic alignment with sector development goals.
  • Ensure the Green Economy is recognised as a key enabler of Greater Manchester’s net zero ambitions, representing the sector at regional platforms, events, and strategic meetings.
