Duration: 12-18 monthsOverview:Robert Half is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a key 12-18 month assignment based in Walsall. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support a dynamic organization through a critical period of transformation and growth. The assignment will fall outside IR35 with an attractive day rate of up to £400 per day.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting to ensure effective financial controls are in place.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
- Implement robust cash flow forecasting and working capital management strategies.
- Provide strategic financial direction and decision-making insights to the leadership team, supporting business transformation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Act as a key liaison for the external audit process, providing thorough preparation and timely responses.
- Drive efficiency through process improvements and system optimization across the finance function.
- Mentor and collaborate with the finance team, ensuring continuity and adherence to high-performance standards.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Substantial experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Director, or similar senior role.
- Strong technical accounting skills and detailed knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage interim assignments independently and hit the ground running.
- Proven track record of delivering finance transformations, process improvements, and reporting efficiencies in a time-sensitive environment.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems; ERP system experience is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
