About the roleBalfour Beatty has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their rapidly expanding Power Transmission and Distribution team. The successful individual will have experience of working on large, complex substation projects . Reporting to the Head of Operations the role will provide management and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team and determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements.The role will be based in the North East.With the Power business in a key stage of growth, there is plenty of scope for development in this role and it would suit someone with ambition and drive to grow with the business.What you'll be doingTo make a real impact as a Senior Project Manager with us, you'll need:
  • Project delivery experience to make sure we meet high quality and safety standards
  • Experience in Power/ Utilities within large infrastructure projects
  • Strong communication skills to manage, mentor and empower your team
  • The confidence and credibility to liaise with business leaders
  • Commercial acumen to control costs and keep projects in budget
  • To understand standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques.

  • Experience of Management and Delivery of Substation schemes up to 400kV preferable.
  • Strong People Management
  • Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects, including sub-contractors
  • Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control
