Our client based in Leicester is seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising their supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in logistics and inventory management.Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations, ensuring they are efficient and effective in meeting company goals.
  • Manage logistics processes including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing performance.
  • Utilize supply chain management software and tools to optimize processes, forecast demand, and ensure inventory is managed effectively.
  • Analyse data from shipping and delivery processes to find bottlenecks and other issues, implementing solutions to optimize operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to integrate logistics with company processes.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
  • Assist in the development of supply chain strategies that support business goals and objectives.
  • Manage and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness.
  • Plan and implement logistical strategies to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods.
  • Handle and resolve any issues or complaints that may arise in the supply chain process.
  • Review and propose improvements to current operations systems and processes to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Operations Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes including procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for planning and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to use Excel is a must
