Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life.Working in a supported living home to two gentlemen in the Ashbourne area of Derbyshire as part of a very well established team of support workers. Your daily tasks will involve:
  • Supporting with medication administration, stock control including ordering of medication when required.
  • Supporting to ensure all medical needs are addressed
  • Supporting with intimate personal care
  • Meal preparation support following SALT guidance
  • Supporting with household tasks
  • Managing finances, paying of bills and budgeting.
  • Teaching of life skills
  • Supporting out in the community to meet friends and attend social activities. Using of public transport
  • Recording and monitoring using our online inhouse system, What Matters Most
What we're looking for:· A genuine passion for supporting others· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.· A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.Contract options:· ReliefShift times:All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!Our shifts runs from 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 10pm plus a sleep in, 9am to 3pm. This is a 24/7 service so flexibility on shifts required.
