Salary: Pay as scaleAbout the RoleWe are seeking a committed and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our Secondary Phase team. This is an exciting opportunity to support students’ learning by supervising classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned lessons, and ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.The successful candidate will also provide support to teachers, administrative staff, and pastoral teams, contributing fully to the wider life of the academy.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage Secondary Phase classes during short-term teacher absence.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson content and respond to student questions.
- Promote student learning and engagement across different year groups and subjects.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow academy protocols consistently.
- Accurately register students and report on progress and behaviour.
- Provide administrative and pastoral support when not covering lessons.
- Contribute to enrichment activities and whole-school initiatives.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times and model school values.
- Has strong communication and organisational skills.
- Can manage a classroom environment effectively.
- Is adaptable to teaching a variety of subjects and age groups.
- Can work collaboratively with staff across teaching, support, and administration.
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a student-centred approach.
