Start Date: September 2025About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a supportive primary school in the Darley Dale area. This role focuses on providing targeted support to Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly those facing barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning environment and helping pupils achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities
- Individual and Small Group Support: Work closely with pupils to address specific learning needs, providing tailored interventions to enhance academic progress and personal development.
- Behaviour and Emotional Support: Implement strategies to support pupils in managing emotions, improving behaviour, and building resilience.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to develop and deliver effective support plans.
- Parental Engagement: Communicate with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development and to keep them informed of progress.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions, contributing to reviews and assessments as required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school setting, particularly within Key Stage 2.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child development ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
