Network Security Engineer (Zscaler)Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Network Security Engineer (Zscaler) to be based at their client’s office in London, UK.This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office once a week .This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asapDay rate: Competitive Market rateThe client is looking for a Network Security Engineer to design, deploy and manage Zscaler ZPA and ZIA solutions across the enterprise networks by configuring firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools, monitoring threats, ensuring compliance, and strengthening cloud/on-premises infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage Zscaler ZPA and ZIA solutions across the enterprise
  • Integrate Zscaler with identity providers (IdPs), SIEMs, and endpoint security platforms
  • Monitor and optimise Zscaler policies, application segments, and access control rules
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to secure access, DNS filtering, SSL inspection, and traffic forwarding
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure secure and compliant network access
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Zscaler configurations, policies, and procedures
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and Zscaler platform updates
  • Understand applications connectivity and troubleshoot within cloud environments
  • Utilise basic Linux commands for tasks like manual script execution, key updates, cron jobs, connection troubleshooting
  • Contribute to the design and the documentation of On Prem and Cloud Architecture and ZPA Architecture in alignment with security best practices
Key Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in network security or related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Zscaler ZPA and ZIA
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and proxy technologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Zero Trust architecture
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) and SAML/SSO integrations
  • Proficiency in using tools like Wireshark, Splunk, or other network/security monitoring tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of routing protocols, for e.g OSPF & BGP
