- Designing secure network solutions – running customer workshops, producing HLD/LLD documentation, and building POCs to validate solutions.
- Implementing solutions – preparing changes, building configuration templates, creating test scripts and deployment runbooks, and configuring routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Leading projects – acting as lead engineer on both large (multi-month) and smaller projects, balancing competing priorities while ensuring successful delivery.
- Knowledge sharing – developing tools, guides, and processes to strengthen the team’s capability and mentoring junior engineers.
- Staying ahead of the curve – becoming a subject matter expert across key networking and security technologies while continuing your own professional development.
- Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical detail clearly and produce quality documentation.
- Organised, detail-driven, and able to balance multiple deadlines in a structured way (ITIL background helpful).
- Passionate about technology, with a drive to learn and develop.
- Hands-on technical expertise including:
- Networking: Strong 3rd Line equivalent - Cisco routing/switching, WAN, campus, and data centre (ACI, Nexus 5K/7K/9K, VXLAN, EVPN).
- Firewalls: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, FortiGate
- Wireless: Cisco & Meraki Wi-Fi (ideally certification required).
- Monitoring tools: SolarWinds, ThousandEyes.
- Essential:
- CCNP (or equivalent experience)
- Cisco Wi-Fi certification and proven engineering experience
- Highly Desirable:
- CCIE R&S
- Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE
- Desirable:
- CCNP Security, Cisco CCNA Security, Checkpoint SA/SE
- Cloud certifications (AWS SAA/SAP, Azure MCSA/MCSE)
- ITIL and/or project management certification
- Degree or diploma in a related discipline
