- Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC)
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Post graduate* expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
- Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Accredited Acute Oncology Course / Module
- Advanced Clinical Assessment & Decision Making Qualification
- Accredited SACT course / module
- SACT WoSCAN NMP Framework Competencies Level 2
- Advanced Communication Skills Qualification
- Current ALS qualification
- Completion of NHSL Advanced Practice Competency Framework or equivalent.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and personal development plan
- Significant comprehensive post registration experience within acute oncology setting, some of which must be at senior practitioner level
- Experience as a CNS / ANP in Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP)
- Experience of nurse-led clinics
- Experience of telephone assessment using UKONS triage tool
- Research and audit knowledge or experience
- Able to demonstarate a high level of knowledge of cancer disorders, treatment and potential side effects of these
- Experience of leading and or managing a team of CNS / ANP
- Knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Leadership Framework
- Knowledge and understanding of CEL30 and its application to Acute Oncology
- Knowledge and understanding of the CUP pathway of care
- Evidence of advanced clinical assessment & examination skills in oncology / acute oncology
- Current competence in venepuncture & cannulation & CVAD
- Current competence in SACT administration
- Evidence of advanced communication skills in relation to complex / challenging conversations in oncology
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals
- Ability to participate in the delivery of presentations and teaching sessions
- Evidence of well-established written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and work flexibly as situations and service demands
