
Therapy Assistant Practitioner (PT&OT)

- GCSE (A-C) English/Maths or equivalent
- NVQ/QCF level 3 in healthcare or equivalent relevant qualification
- Foundation degree in Health and Social care or equivalent level 5 qualification
- Previous experience as a Band 3 therapy support worker
- Experience of managing own caseload
- Experience working with an MDT
- Ability to deal with pressured or unexpected situations
- Involvement in supporting less experienced staff
- Previous experience as a rehab assistant practitioner, band 4
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Effective written, verbal and non verbal communication skills
- Able to build rapport and demonstrate interpersonal skills
- ABility to communicate complex information with patients who have impaired communication abilities
- To be able to demonstrate a responsible attitude/professional behaviour
- Ability to use problem solving skills and work on own initiative
- ABle to evaluate patient conditions and adapt treatment as necessary
- Able to take an active role in supervision and reflective practice
- Understand the scope of role and seek direction as necessary
- Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise
- To be able to work on own initiative
- To deal with non routine and unpredicatable nature of workload
- Able to undertake therapeutic moving and handling
- Experience of using IT
- Must be flexible with working requirements
- Must be able to travel across NUH sites
