- To carry out maintenance and minor repairs, some of which may be non-routine, but do not require the attention of a fully qualified craft person.
- Actively participates in the operation and control of planned maintenance schemes.
- Actively participate in the operation of the NHS labour control scheme by working within the scheme including completion of all paperwork required of the scheme (including job dockets and timesheets)
- To carry out agreed schedule of activities, and respond to emergency duties as required, across the various Trust sites.
- To undertake work in hazardous areas, taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to self, others, and Trust equipment.
- May be required to work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management.
- Able to use a variety of relevant tools and equipment within safe guidelines as necessary for the completion of works as instructed by Estates Officer
- Able to learn and understand basic technical details and procedures.
- Proven record of working as a semi multitask operator.
- Experience of working in hospital/clinical environments
- Knowledge of work systems and equipment within NHS properties
- GCSE/O level/CSE in Maths and English
- Induction, internal and external training courses as appropriate
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and tools gained through training, part qualification or equivalent learning.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Able to work at times without direct supervision.
- Requirement to work in adverse environmental work conditions e.g., boiler house, drains, cellars, roofs.
- Able to use a variety of relevant tools and equipment within safe guidelines as necessary for the completion of works as instructed by Estates Officer
