• Continuously improving existing recipes and formulations to enhance product quality, taste, and consistency as well as cost optimisation.
• Researching new techniques and ways to produce by improving quality, process and packaging of the existing range.
• Leading the formulation and development of new products from concept to launch
• Supporting the procurement team in sourcing ingredients that meet the recipe requirements and the quality standards.
• Organising quality panels and benchmarking activities (internal and external) on a regular basis to have a clear idea of how the product ranks against competitors in retail and foodservice.
• Input into the packaging process, providing accurate nutritional info and having a clear idea about legal requirements.
• Working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment ensuring that all key milestones are met.

• A self-starter who wants to become a product expert, passionate about upskilling other members of the team to make sure everyone understands what makes our products unique.
• Strong attention to detail, methodical way of working to ensure accuracy across all elements of the product development cycle.
• Interest in trends within product development, and desire to collaborate to assess whether these are relevant to the business.
• Preferably educated to degree level.
• Experience working within an NPD Technologist / Development Chef role in the food industry.
• Understanding of HACCP Principles (Level 3 minimum), Food Hygiene and H&S principles.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
