- A single market facing global Energy M&A team, in particular focused on cross border transactions and actively covering global pools of capital and large corporate clients
- A market leading overall Energy Advisory proposition, spanning strategic advice, wide-ranging deal propositions spanning due diligence and legal / tax structuring, complex carve outs, integration and JV structuring, and an end to end major project delivery team
- Senior and trusted client relationships across mid-market and global companies, new strategic entrants, financial investors and leading entrepreneurs
- An enviable set of market credentials across each of KPMG's major service lines
- A diverse skill set and deep sector expertise spanning across all sectors
- Deal origination: Proactively identify and originate new M&A opportunities through a strong personal network of industry contacts, investors, and intermediaries.
- Lead client engagement from initial pitch through to mandate win, demonstrating deep sector insight and commercial acumen.
- Business development: Play a key role in furthering KPMG's strength in the region while supporting other areas of the business with go to market and business development best practice / strategies;
- Manage internal relationships: further leverage off KPMG's reach and brand outside of M&A advisory. The reach and strength of senior relationships across the sector is a powerful tool to be harnessed;
- Team development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of M&A professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Provide coaching and guidance to support career development and technical excellence.
- Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including intermediaries and other advisors;
- The successful individual will be central to all key decision making and will play a vital role in the continued development and success of the team and wider M&A advisory business
- Strong academic & technical background (ACA, CFA, MBA or equivalent)
- Significant experience within M&A advisory in an investment bank, Big 4, private equity team, M&A Boutique or corporate development role; and / or significant experience in an energy focused fund manager, asset manager or corporate; with a strong network and reputation to originate attractive M&A business
- A proven track record of materially contributing to the successful generation of competitive sell and buy-side mandates in the M&A advisory space
- Significant transactional experience with a demonstrable record of deal execution across all phases of the transaction cycle from origination to completion
- Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated experience of financial modelling
- Personal drive to deliver results and ambition to make an impact in a growing sector team Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at senior levels.
